Lakeshore Chorale - Music For Life

Lakeshore Youth Chorale

Currently consisting of two youth choirs, the Lyric and Jubilate Choir, and the Chamber Choir, the Lakeshore Youth Chorale has been singing for 30 years! The choirs have a membership of over 60 area youth from Sheboygan County. Committed to learning a wide variety of musical styles, the Lakeshore Youth Chorale provides a rich musical experience for the children who sing, as well as those who hear them.

The Lyric and Jubilate Choir, directed by Seth Gillis, is made up of elementary and middle school-aged students. Their goal is to build a foundation in proper vocal technique and music reading through the use of solfege and quality literature. The Lyric and Jubilate Choir aims toward excellence in its repertoire of two and three part music and works to deepen skills in harmony. Members of this choir have become leaders in their respective school and church choirs.

The Chamber Choir , directed by Heather Hammond, consists mainly of high-school youth. Members continue to develop and build upon their vocal and choral foundation through challenging and diverse repertoire.  Singers work to maintain good vocal health while growing their musicianship and musical independence.

The youth choirs join Lakeshore Chorale in two concerts each year. They also present their own spring concert with music especially designed for young voices each April. Members of these choirs have become leaders in their respective school and church choirs in addition to school and community musical theater productions.

Membership in the Lakeshore Youth Chorale is by audition, held each spring and fall, or by appointment with the directors. New members are accepted on the basis of vocal ability and commitment to the organization.
